We tried…but we couldn’t think of a reason why a good sounding carbon composite bow shouldn’t also be a lot of fun to use! That’s why, after we made sure our K.Holtz Carbon bows had excellent playing and tonal qualities, we decided to offer them in seven brilliant colors. Although their bold appearance was conceived with the student player in mind, we have been pleasantly surprised to hear how popular they have become with professional players as well. (see below)

  • State-of-the-art carbon composite stick
  • Classic weight and balance
  • Nickel-mounted ebony frog with mother-of-pearl slide and Parisian eye
  • Genuine unbleached Mongolian horse hair
  • Available in 7 brilliant colors
  • Available for violin, viola, and cello in 4/4 size (only)

People are raving about the K.Holtz Carbon bows!
Here are a few comments from happy players:

My new student came to his first lesson with an Eastman Strings cello and a green K.Holtz Carbon bow. I tried the bow, and it sounded better than mine!

Dear Eastman Strings,

I am a professional violinist from the US working in Belgium. Recently, while visiting Maryland, I bought a blue K.Holtz violin bow on a fanciful whim. I have used it for recording sessions in Seattle and in cramped orchestra pits in Washington DC—and sometimes just generally to make people smile. Not only have I become greatly attached to it, but I have been astonished by the frenzy of excitement the bow has caused everywhere I go—most recently here among my European colleagues. They (as I was) are amazed at how easy the bow plays, at the affordability, and most of all by the fun color. Violists and cellists ask if they can get ones for their instruments. Everybody asks me, what other colors they come in, and if I can get them one or more. Even the winds and brass are curious!

My question to you is whether you have considered testing the European market. From what I've seen, these could be a hit, and not just among students. Aside from their jobs playing in orchestra, many of my colleagues incorporate experimental and jazz/rock music into their careers; these bows are hot professional accessories!

I've already provoked colleagues of mine in Seattle and Washington DC to buy colorful bows of their own. It's the same here in Europe: I'm quite confident that word will spread as my colleagues show and tell their friends and colleagues about these bows.

Best regards,
Se-Yun Lee

Fantastic color! I have bought the gold one and I thought that the sparkle was marvelous! I hope anyone looking to buy this product has good intentions for their bow because you will love to play with it! So, happy playing!!!

Good quality bow. This was the first carbon fiber bow that I have used, and I was very pleased with it. It's pretty responsive and brings out warm tones in my viola. This is a great buy for the advanced student player.

Great way to add something special to your kid’s instrument. Both of my kids (violin and viola players) responded to seeing the bows as "COOL!" I let them pick the color... Skip the cheap (heavy) fiberglass bow or think about this as a nice upgrade when they are at the stage when a better bow is needed.

Ordering this bow I wasn't expecting it to be good enough. I bought it because I wanted to match the color of my electric violin. I really wasn't expecting it to be too good. I've played with various bows more expensive than this one. This is the first time I tried a cheap bow. It responded so "gently" to the right hand moves (legato, marcato, staccato, spiccato, martelle, etc). Without a second thought I give 5 stars!

And there’s more...
We heard a rumor that a certain cellist with the initials Y-YM had purchased one of our K.Holtz Carbon bows. When we wrote to inquire, here’s the response we got:

While the rumor is true that [Mr. M.] does have a green K.Holtz Carbon bow in his collection, he is unable to give you a written statement due to his personal policy of declining all requests for endorsement. [Mr. M.] sends his best wishes.

We think the fact that our bow is in his collection is a significant endorsement in its own right!
